I love Nebraska auctions! I've had the opportunity to go to a couple now and I can't wait for the summer months when they'll be on hay bales, in pumpkin patches, maybe next to some frolicking deer...Yea, it's not that picturesque, but I feel like I'm in a novel where a big city girl moves to a small town and meets all kinds of engaging characters (like how I made Provo out to be a big city there? Just trying to bring it up in the world).
On a completely different note: I taught my first Young Women Lesson Sunday and I think all my years of snotty remarks and goofy around during church are finally coming back to bite me in the lesson manual (Shans knows what I'm talking about). Turns out, yeah, treats really are a distraction during the lesson! No one even tried to understand the scriptures we read or participate. I took a lesson about picking up your socks at home and turned it into something wonderful! Girls, didn't we participate even when we were snotty? How do they not know I'm the coolest teacher ever?!! I'm teaching again this week and have no idea what I'm going to do. If you have any insights please, share your much knowledge!

they will warm up to you and start making comments don't worry - plus maybe it would help if you write 'sister west=coolest teacher in the world' up on the chalk board. that oughta do it!

ok, first, i LOVE THE BLOG DESIGN! Way to go Helene! Can you teach me too? Really, I was so excited when I clicked and saw the coolness. So awesome. Glad you are blogging now.
Also, way to go for your story!!! I want to hear all about it! I mean, I guess you just told the blog world about it, but there have got to be more details...
love you again!
Your story about the YW made me laugh, cause I'm dealing with little snotty 7 year olds who don't listen either! Maybe we're getting what we deserve. But I SWEAR we listened way better than these guys do...
I'm with you Lauren--we were smart kids. Then again, brother Keele did have to pull out the gum and lotion just to be able to start his lesson...
